You’ve got baggage
What if your backpack had a mouth and zero chill? JanSport’s “Always With You” campaign returns with musical, emotionally unfiltered bags that sing their way through love, spills, bug attacks, and every meltdown in between. Created by comedic ad agency Party Land, the campaign uses puppetry, genre-spanning ballads, and raw, off-key vocals to turn each JanSport into a melodramatic sidekick who has truly seen it all. With a focus on TikTok, YouTube, and short-form video, the campaign leans into Gen Z’s love of chaos, humor, and honesty to remind them that JanSport is always there, quietly holding your stuff and your secrets.
A sky full of “Oops”
When a Coldplay kiss cam caught Astronomer’s married CEO Andy Byron cozying up to the company’s head of HR, Kristin Cabot, the internet lit up faster than a confetti cannon. Their awkward attempt to dodge the spotlight only fueled speculation, prompting Coldplay’s Chris Martin to joke, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.” As memes multiplied and a fake apology circulated, brand mentions surged, though few had anything to do with Astronomer’s actual business. The incident, now dubbed “ColdplayGate,” offers a viral reminder: in the age of social media, no moment – personal or professional – is truly private.
Drip check
Velveeta is turning up the heat (and the cheese) with its new “Respect the Drip” campaign, featuring Cardi B’s “Drip” and a heavy pour of melty attitude. The 15-second spot marks a pivot from “La Dolce Velveeta” to a more culture-first swagger, with Cardi herself serving as campaign muse. The brand’s signature boldness returns via cheesy close-ups, drip-themed bling, and future tie-ins with Cardi’s album drop. As parent Kraft Heinz eyes a $20B grocery spin-off, Velveeta’s betting that embracing the drip will help it stay saucy in a shifting food landscape.
Pepper Pick
The Brooklyn baddies are probably already aware, but Blundstone (yes, the shoe company) is hosting a food festival and we’re excited to grab a bite to eat on 8/8!
