Plan for the plot twist
Wisdom 💡: A crisis plan on a shared drive is less a plan than a very organized hope. In her latest thought leadership piece, Peppercomm Co-President Jackie Kolek explains why colleges and universities need to know who makes decisions, how concerns escalate and what stakeholders need to hear before the pressure is on. When facts are still unfolding, clear, timely communication can steady a campus without pretending to have every answer. Trust is built long before the headline and tested in the moments after it.
Smoothie lore
Wit 😁: Comedian, podcast host and Dancing with the Stars contestant Connor Wood went viral after Jennifer Lawrence called him out for paying her no mind while he sipped a smoothie on 8th Avenue. The moment sparked social media buzz and even Halloween costumes. The internet works hard, but brands work harder: Smoothie King turned the chatter into “Connor’s Paid Me No Mind Smoothie,” available in-store at all locations now. The 20-ounce drink has 26 grams of protein, zero grams of added sugar, strawberries, bananas and electrolytes, giving him fuel for dance rehearsals and the internet another reason to keep talking.
Internet, rebooted
Wit 😁: Remember when getting online was an activity, not a full-time relationship with targeted ads? Firefox’s “Come Back to Firefox” campaign reunites early internet icons like Numa Numa Guy, Bad Luck Brian and Annoying Orange to make a case for a more fun, less intrusive web. A Kelly “Shoes” cameo takes aim at ads that follow you around, while the campaign also nods to concerns about privacy and unwanted AI. Nostalgia gets the click, but Firefox gives people a present-day reason to log back in.
