Smartwater has hit refresh with Jennifer Aniston for its latest campaign as part of its parent company, Coca-Cola’s, renewed focus on authentic storytelling. The campaign leans into the nostalgia factor of one of our favorite television shows of all time, Friends. The brand and Jennifer prove that unlike her and Ross, they “were never on a break.” This refresh is a full-on glow-up with new hyper-customized marketplace approaches and AI integrations to drive personalization. We’re here for it!
Left No Crumbs
P.F. Changs recently baked up a fantastic brand opportunity stemming from a viral TikTok moment. When a user’s fake cake business account (created purely for anonymous snooping) suddenly had 5 orders, she panicked and tried to go full Cake Boss. The Asian-fusion chain was one of many brands that jumped in to interact with the video, but they were the only ones that actually understood the assignment. In less than 6 hours, P.F. Changs had 5 cakes delivered right to the original poster’s door. Thank you, Chef, for showing us that viral brand moments can be a piece of cake.
You Are What You Buy
Older generations aren’t digging digital brands, at least not the same way that younger generations do. Morning Consult’s Most Trusted Brands report for 2025 shares that younger consumers are surprisingly chill with digital brands that people over 50 are more likely to side-eye. Bottom line: different generations have their trust earned in different ways. If newer brands want to gain the trust of older consumers, they’ll need to ditch the flash and bring the receipts, because this audience doesn’t do sus.
