Lede the way

Lede the way

Wisdom 💡:  A former TV news producer’s secret weapon for media strategy? Knowing when to cut to the chase. After nearly two decades of making split-second calls in live control rooms, PC VP of Media Relations, Marissa Dunn, says the strongest stories come down to two questions: What’s the headline, and what’s the one thing no one else is saying? In a media landscape drowning in talking points, AI buzzwords and overflowing inboxes, more information isn’t necessarily more interesting. The real breaking news: If you want to stand out, stop burying the lede.

Liquid assets

Wit 😁:  Liquid Death and Garage Beer are taking the AI data center debate somewhere no brand has dared to go before: straight to the bathroom. 🚽 With Jason Kelce leading a singalong plea for Americans to donate their pee as server coolant, the brands are turning concerns over data centers’ massive water use into a wildly unserious call to action. The stunt pairs a legitimate sustainability issue with the kind of crude, absurd humor both brands have made their calling card. Who knew saving humanity from thirsty computers could be such a whiz?

Social studies

Wisdom 💡: Brands that treat social media like one big sales pitch risk getting an immediate unfollow. The 50-30-20 rule offers a better formula: spend half your content engaging, 30% curating useful information and just 20% selling your wares. But percentages only get you so far, knowing when to skip the meme, join the conversation or simply read the room is what keeps a feed feeling human. Because when it comes to social, the best way to sell your brand might be to stop selling so dang hard.
